P400M for Mactan Airport
In preparation for the upcoming ASEAN Summit in December, Mactan Airport will be spruced up with bigger VIP lounges and widening of parking spaces for jets of heads of state. According to the news, to accomodate two 747 Boeing jets Japan will be using, two hectares will be added to the airport runway. The total airport preparation costs will reach P105 Million including the purchase of air-condition VIP buses to ferry passengers from ramp to airport building.
Not only that, the DPWH officials in the area have presented a plan for P278.1 Million for improvement of road sections in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue.
By the way, does anybody know what is happening with the NAIA 3?

last I heard, NAIA 3 will be operating soon, with Cebu Pacific offering more flights abroad there…
anyway, I was aghast to find that the terminal fee at the centennial airport is already P200… and they don’t even have diaper-changing stations there! Hmmpff… wonder if Mactan’s Terminal fee will increase now too…
