STK at No Problem Restaurant
No Problem Restaurant is a Dampa-like style of a restaurant where you market first the food in their own mini market where you’ll find Lapu-Lapu (a fish named after a certain Filipino hero of Cebu), crabs, seaweeds and the likes, then ask them to cook it for you and then eat it. I was able to get a chance to go there (located near the Mactan Shrine) and have a sumptuous lunch together with the SME Manila Chapter. The said location has a lot of carinderias slash restaurants that offer Sutukil. Sutukil is a derivation of three Cebuano words namely, Sugba, Tuwa and Kilaw. And when you say sutukil, it does not refer to a particular dish. It refers to seafood cooked in 3 different manners according to this page.
First, let me describe to you what we ordered to give you an idea what’s the food like at No Problem Restaurant. The one that topped in my list is the Lapu-Lapu overflowing with sweet and sour sauce. The second honorable mention was the squid cooked in adobo-like style with a sweet and spicy taste. The third honorable mention is the buttered shrimp which I believe that it’s really quite ordinary for me. My simple taste buds that are not looking for a complex cuisine did not make me try the intriguing seaweeds. Aside from what I have mentioned earlier, pork belly and calamares was also served. There was really no problem with the food except for the fact that there are flies around that would try their utmost best to distract you by shooing them away or the worst thing that could happen is to piss you off by diving successfully into your beverage or food.

[...] I was at Cebu from July 6 to 9 and no it is not entirely for pleasure, it is actually for work. The company that I’m currently working for is one of the exhibitors for the recently concluded Manufacturing Technology Cebu which was held from July 7 to 9. On the first day, I joined SME Manila chapter members on their plant tours at Mactan Parts Technology and Pentax. We had our lunch at the famous No Problem Restaurant and had a picture tripping at the Mactan Shrine. After our Pentax plant tour, we visited the Plantation Bay resort where we had our usual photo ops. After which, we went to Waterfront Hotel where the said event was held (and this is also the hotel that we’re checked in). [...]
