yap. very yummy ang pastel ng camiguin. pero medyo mahal nga lang dito sa manila.

pastel have different flavors rin aside nung original nila na parang yema ang sa loob.

yeah, geeten, it’s what i noticed also, as if you are inside a cockpit, kristos doing the “masyada”.. kuyawan ka hinoun mogawas sa pier..as for the taxis in cdo, i can only say that no cities in the phils. can match the car models available for the riding public..mao lang kay naa lang gyud mapahimuslanon sa panahon..

right, right. pastel is a trademark of Camiguin. indeed, if you go to Cagayan de Oro - you can just think of fresh pineapple as pasalubong…surely you won’t miss the noisy peddlers at the port wailing to sell their pineapples…

sad to say, CDO has one of the noisiest (with all the people barking at you when you go out of the port) and undisciplined drivers (taxi drivers don’t use their meters but charge you instead of a fix rate, and tricycle drivers charge you more than the usual fare…) this alone makes CDO not really that inviting.

I do agree with Superpasyal. Pastel is not a native delicacy of Cagayan de Oro (CDO). The box says Camiguin Pastel and not CDO Pastel.

However Cagayan de Oro is known for hams. One of the oldest ham makers is SLERS (since 1969). They are now producing chicharon (pork rind) which is becoming a popular pasalubong. You can buy them in the malls. Cashew nuts also are gaining popularity in the city which are harvested in Lumbia district (near the airport).
