Hello. I read your blog about Corregidor Island. Is it possible to go there without joining a tour? We’re on a budget of 6 pax. Can we just take the ferry, hire a tour when we reach there & bring our own lunch? Thanks.

Yes, I’m sure there’s a way.

Would I recommend it?
No. Tours are booked at Manila-side (not Corregidor side). It’s not easy getting around on your own unless you bring your own bicycle/scooter. Konti lang ang mapupuntahan ninyo if you travel on foot.

Corregidor is one my priority destinations in the Philippines,I grew up on one of the town just across,I used to dive,fish,hunt,hike and explore the sorroundings,I can even remember the complete inventories of all the Canon left by the Americans and the Japanese, all of the Japanese canon’s were missing as of Feb.2007( I was there for a week and stayed at the Corregidor Hotel), these canon’s were there years ago,I saw the spot but the canon’s were not there,somebody must have stolen all of it!
Corregidor has a big “Tourism Potential”behind it,very close to Manila,no pollution very ideal for a day trip, Flora and Fauna “must” be improve not only its history,I can challeged any park officials if they can show me a single Ilang-Ilang tree in the whole island, this tree’s are native to this area,dynamite fishing still exist, I’ve heared one “blast” while diving. I also noticed that “birds” that you don’t see anymore in the mainland is all there,this place must not only be recognized as a Historical Park it should also be a “Wildlife Sanctuary”,again Corregidor needs more improvement.

i went there just last nov 2006, it was indeed. we stayed overnight got the change to witnessed the sunset and sunrise plus the explorations of tunnels and laterals during the night and early morning

fun experience and the beach is good too
