When I visited Legazpi 3 years ago, recalling the name I dropped by at the new Waway’s Restaurant to satisfy my cravings for Bicolano food (I now stay with my family in Manila). The place is not only bigger, brighter, more presentable, definitely cleaner, and there’s a wide array of Bicol food to choose from. They all taste terrific, too!

I learned from the new owner that they bought the right to to the restaurant from the old Waway and retained its name. What better testimony to good food and a happy reminder of our culinary tradition.
