La Loma Lechon, Quezon City.
The most famous and popular dish of the Philippines is probably the lechon, which is prepared for fiestas, family celebrations (like parties and marriages) and also a favourite dish during Christmas time.

Lechon is the Spanish name for pig, in the Philippines it means a spit-roasted pig.
We also have the lechon baka (spit-roasted cow) and the lechon manok (spit-roasted chicken)
Lechon (in Tagalog litson) is a roasted whole pig cooked in charcoal. Lechon is prepared by stuffing the inside of the animal with herbs and vegetables. The pigs are slowly hand roasted on top of charcoal for hours till their skin turn reddish brown and the inside flesh becomes tender. The dish is often served with a thick liver sauce cooked with vinegar, sugar and herbs.
La Loma district in Quezon City praise itself as being the lechon capital of the Philippines.
Started by Mang Tomas in the early 50’s his business got a lot of competitors. The other top lechon makers are Mila, Pingping, Lito, Aling Nene and Nelia to name a few. The roasted pigs are displayed on the sidewalks. You can purchase a whole pig or buy the meat per kg. Ask also to visit the place where they roast the pigs. It is spectacular to see the quantity of pigs that are simultaneously roasted and the way they are doing it.

Where: La Loma district in Quezon City
My rating: 8/10
Very spectacular. I was amazed to see how they roast the pigs by hand. It is also a strange sight to see all those pigs displayed outside on the sidewalks. Too bad the whole neighbourhood is a bit run down.
Nearby: La Loma Cemetery & North Cemetery. Both cemeteries are worth a visit.

Hanap nyo bay masarap na lechon? Sa lechon cebu na masarap at ma crispy pa ang balat ng lechon nila. Hindi na kailangang lagyan pa ng liver sauce or mang tomas kasi malasa na.

Yes lechon cebu is truly the best. Wala talagang katulad sa lechon cebu. Napakasarap at napaka crispy ng lechon cebu. Nothing compare the taste of lechon cebu.
Try lechoncebu

Sa cebu ang lechon nila hindi na kailangan lagyan pa ng mang tomas or liver sauce kasi malasa na yung lechon nila. Unlike sa other lechon seller. Nakabili kasi me ng lechon somewehere in Quezon City kailangan mo pa lagyan ng sauce or mang tomas para lang may malasahan ka. Pero when i taste the lechon cebu yummmmy ang sarap! Napakasarap ng lechon sa cebu at napaka crunchy pa ng balat. Sa lechon cebu ko lang natikman ang pinakamasarap na lechon

Hi ailen, thanks sa link na binigay mo. It helps me talaga. Nag order kami ng lechon last July 21 sa lechon cebu. Its my lola’s birth day kasi… Tasty ang lechon nila at crispy pa ang balat. Nagustuhan talaga ng mga tao ang lasa ng lechon cebu. And we plan na mag order ulit sa kanila this coming September.
Lechon cebu keep it up. Ang sarap talaga ng lechon.

LechonCebu.com has a tasty, juicy lechon. Its taste is different from the lechon I tasted before. It also doesn’t need sauce to make it tasty. Accommodation is also very warm, they are very hospitable & approachable.
UP Los Baños » October 6th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
The lechon was very yummy & tasty even without the sauce! We all loved it!.. The founders of the company are such an inspiration for the students with young minds to put up their own businesses in the future. Thanks for the wonderful accommodation! Thanks lechoncebu.com

Hi. Just have a ques to MANONG’S TASTY LECHON if we need to do advance reservation for our xmas party next month? I understand that its hard to order lechon on a short notice during Dec.
Roland P. Panares » November 17th, 2008 at 11:57 am
Yes, it’s advisable to book it in advance kasi we are getting reservations na para sa pasko. Bragging aside, we already have 30++ orders for Dec 24 alone–and still counting. So go figure how hectic it is for us for Dec. We, however, do not turn down orders not unless if wala na talagang stock which is very possible for any lechon company. Call me at 7032133, Smart 0908-3237727 and lets talk. Thanks.

One of the favorite food of Filipino, the pig had always been the center of communal feasts in pre-Hispanic Philippines, and “lechon” is the normal manner it is prepared.
