Santo Sing Kong Buddhist Church, Tondo, Manila
This is a wonderful Buddhist church/temple located in a quiet street of Tondo. It is well worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood. The church is artfully decorated. On wooden pillars you can admire more than hundred little statues of Gods from different religions. The caretaker is very friendly and you are free to take as much pictures as you wish. I couldn’t find any information about this Church on the internet.

Exceptional festivities every Chinese New Year.

Where: Simbahan ng Santo Sing Kong. 657 Morga Street, Tondo, Manila. Open every day from 6.00 am till 5.00 pm
Tell: 242 00 86 or 242 48 04
My rate: 10/10. A wonderful Buddhist Church. Awesome little statues.

It is good that they allowed you to take photos! Honestly, foreigners have the distinct advantage over Pinoy-looking tourists, he he! so places where photography is normally banned become lax with their rules. What do you think?

Yes, you are right. BUT it also depends on your attitude and how strictly the guards enforce the rules. There are other Buddhist temples that didn’t allow me to take pictures (For example the Seng Guan Buddhist temple in Binondo). But I don’t easily give up. I have a lot of stories and I have an official press card. This helps too.
Many guards banned me already from taking pictures (for instance in Fort Bonifacio, in Cubao and in malls. The best is to come back another day and hope you will not encounter the same guards.
I am sure one day I will get those pictures of the Seng Guan Buddhist temple! Maybe it was just a guard who disliked someone looking like an American!

I was at the Santo Sing Kong temple a few days ago. Chinese officemates from way back told me about this temple. Awesome, yes. But what attracted me to it, is the chance given to ask the gods a question, and to get a written response in English. Really worth ones’ time!

Cool pictures. I have been to that temple. Have you tried attending the “diam king” or the mass. There are two masses every Sunday one during 9:00 AM and one 11:00 AM.
