Overnight Options @ Tagaytay
Have you ever been faced with the question of where is the best place to stay overnight in Tagaytay? You might come across this question when a balikbayan goes home and only has limited time to explore the Philippines. Of course, the best way is to showcase Tagaytay with all its culinary wonders, cool weather and amazing view of Taal Volcano. To save you some time, I’ve checked out five (5) prominent hotels/inns in the Tagaytay area.
Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay
This is in the high end of the hotels in Tagaytay same pricing as Tagaytay Highlands (which are for members only). It has the country home feel to it, and you can immediately feel at home with its setting. There are only seven (7) rooms:
- The first 3 rooms (Analucia, St. Tropez, Ceylon) costs P4,500++ on weekdays and 6,500++ on a weekend.
- The second 3 rooms (Nantucket, Siam, Nara) costs P5,500++ on a weekday, 7,500++ on a weekend.
- The last room (Oxford) is P7,500++ (weekday) and P10,000++ Weekend.
Each room is good for two (2) and you need to pay P800+ for each additional person. It includes complimentary country breakfast buffet and complimentary wine tasting with cheese and hor d’oeuvres. This is the only place with Wi-Fi! There is a very samll outdoor jacuzzi and I was disappointed with the view because the red roof of the house actually blocks the view of Taal Volcano.
300 Calamba Road, San Jose, Tagaytay City 4120, Philippines
(63 46) 413.4567 (Tagaytay), (63 2) 683.8383 (Manila Reservations)

Taal Vista Hotel
You’ll be amazed at how the Fuego Hotels transformed this Tagaytay landmark into a beautiful hotel. Gone are the days of mass people flocking to Tagaytay Vista Hotel to look at the magnificent view for free. Now, you need to pay P100 for parking not unless you dine or stay overnight it is free. Currently, they are on promo for P3,400 net for a superior room with breakfast for (2) on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. What is nice about the hotel is that the rooms could rival Manila Pen’s rooms, there is an inviting blue swimming pool, a kids playground, wonderful lobby, and the best magnificent view of Taal Volcano. We chose to stay here and you can read some more in my Taal Vista Hotel experience.
15th Floor, 139 Corporate Center, Valero St. Salcedo Village Makati City, 1227 Philippines
(632) 751.3088 to 89/ (632) 751.8418 to 19

Days Hotel Inn
This is a hotel chain and suppose to be this is a value-for-money inn. However, when we inquired the rate is P4,360 with breakfast on a weekday which is 20% discount on the Standard Double Room (published rate is P5,450). Nothing much to say about this place, except that we were disappointed with the cost because it did not meet our expectation. This hotel also has a great view of Taal and normally used for wedding receptions during the summer.
Aguinaldo Highway, Silang Crossing, Tagaytay City
(63 46) 413.2400

Estancia Resort Hotel
This hotel looks old already and the rooms feels like you are in a motel room. If you are budget conscious then this is the place to be. The superior room only costs P2,900 net, Nipa Hut at P3,200 net, De Luxe Room at P3,500 net and Executive Suite at P3,900 net. This includes breakfast already and extra person costs P600. There is a restaurant overlook taal lake and a swimming pool under a bridge which I think is not appropriate.
Zone 2, Brgy San Jose, Tagaytay City
(046) 413-1133 to 35
Sonya’s Secret Garden Bed and Breakfast
You’ll stay in an al-fresco garden ambiance for P2,500 which already includes dinner and breakfast. This is ideal for cool months but not advisable during rainy season. For those of you who have not been here, this would continue to be a secret but I’ll leave the mobile phone for you if you need more inquiry on this place (63 917) 533.5140 / (63 917) 532.9097

[...] In a previous entry, Anton itemized overnight possibilities in Tagaytay, Sonya’s Graden being one of them. Actually, Sonya’s is more than just a bed-and-breakfast. It’s also a popular get-away destination for the urban folks. It’s far enough from the city to get the feeling of being on a short vacation, but close enough to make the trip to get there, have a sumptuous lunch or a massage, and head back home. [...]

while i agree that the new taal vista hotel is great, i feel saddened by the fact that private establishments are gobbling up all the great views of taal. You’re right; having “mass people flocking to Tagaytay Vista Hotel to look at the magnificent view for free” doesn’t help the hotel in any way, but i can’t help wondering where these folks who can’t afford this new “luxury” will go now.
great blog on our awesome planet, by the way.

We just stayed at the royal taal, my spouse and our two children and I. They were super. They had the best overloooking rates in Tagaytay and believe me, we checked everywhere! The staff was friendly and their service was good. Internet connection was okay as most other hotels in Tagaytay did not offer internet connections.
When we stayed at the taal vista last visit and we paid more than Php 4800 and the service was lousy.
We’ll be staying at the roayl taal our next visit to Tagayaty in 2008!

i suggest to those who are a bit looking for a cheaper but still comfy and nice rooms to stay in tagaytay to try and visit keni po rooms. they are on the way to picnic grove their room rate is only 1200php. aircon, cabletv hot shower and if you are lucky you could avail of their room with tub if its vacant…
mark » March 30th, 2008 at 10:31 am
yeah, i have been to keni po rooms in tagaytay for several times… and i should say that their price is very cheap for a very hotel type of service and room. The room comes with complete toiletries even with disposable slippers… how many hotel still gives away disposable slippers… only the expensive hotels… and their food is also priced reasonable and good.

Hi Anton, I’m one of your readers. I’m from Tagaytay. We just opened one of our houses for rent / bed & breakfast. You guys may want to try it for a low budget getaway.
