Located 40 kilometers away from the city Iloilo is the chuch of Santo Tomas de Villanueva in the town of Miag-ao. The church of Miag-ao is one of the four Baroque Churches in the Philippiens that has been inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sailing the Ilonggo seas for more than thirty years, the Paraw Regatta has been the manifestation of the Ilonggos long history with the sea. “Paraw” is a Hiligaynon term that refers to the sail boat that has a triangular sail used for traveling and fishing.

Last February 17, the Ilonggos painted the city of Iloilo red! Iloilo City has recently held its annual Lunar New Year Celebrations along the city’s Chinatown Triangle.
The Pasig River Ferry was launched by President Macapagal-Arroyo on Wednesday 14, 2007. Five of the ten terminals are already build and are connected by twin-hulled catamarans 24.5 meters long by 7 meters wide. Each vessel has a capacity of 152 passengers and runs at an average speed of 10 knots.
