Good news for all travelers using the Philippine airports. Starting September 23, 2016, all NAIA Terminals are now equipped with high-speed WiFi.
Smart and PLDT in cooperation with DOTr have put up a public-private partnership to showcase all major airports with “carrier-grade” internet speed.
High-speed WiFi is now available at all NAIA Terminals.
This state-of-the-art communications infrastructure will help boost the country’s tourism industry. Today’s travelers are constantly online and rely on mobile apps for information and services that make their trips more enjoyable and productive,” said PLDT and Smart chairman, president, and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan.
11 Regional Airports are also enabled
Not only the four NAIA terminals are enabled with up to 1Gbps of internet speed. There are 11 identified high-traffic regional airports that will enjoy the same speed.
Before the activation at NAIA, the first deployment of carrier-grade Smart Wifi was in Davao City’s Francisco Bangoy International Airport, Mindanao’s busiest, last July 19. This was followed by more rollouts in Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental, Bacolod-Silay International Airport and Iloilo International Airport, Roxas Airport, Zamboanga Airport, Clark International Airport, Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport, Laoag International Airport, General Santos International Airport, Kalibo International Airport.
