We were on jet plane again on March 16, 2013 as we were invited once more by SkyJet to their inaugural flight to Virac, Catanduanes. Catanduanes is a island province of Bicol Region (Region V).
I was joined by fellow travel and food bloggers Ron from Wahpinas and Azrael’s Merryland. Azrael and I had to be left to the island to check out more tourist spots, we were hosted by Catanduanes Midtown Inn during our two days stay there.
In case you missed this, we were with Skyjet’s inaugural flight in Busuanga too, check our exclusive story in this post.
Currently, SkyJet flies to Coron, Virac and to Batanes. The last I heard is they are arranging to fly to Boracay anytime this summer.
Anyway, it seems that the provincial government of Catanduanes is in full support to the newest airline flying to Virac. Unlike the inaugural flight to Busuanga, our flight to Virac is joined by local politicians. The incumbent Governor is with us, Hon. Joseph “Boboy” Cua, lone district Representative Cesar Sarmiento, including former Comelec Commissioner Rene Sarmiento.
The same jet that took us to Busuanga is the same one that flies to Virac, they serve snacks for free. You can choose coffee or water with brownies.
Experience a 40-something minutes fly if you are going to Virac via SkyJet, it is fast, naturally because its a jet plane.
Caramoan, Camarines Sur and Pura-ran, Catanduanes are tourist spots you don’t like to miss!
Going to Caramoan in Camarines Sur? Or probably your gang would like to try the surfing in Pura-ran, Catanduanes, without having to worry of bringing your surfing boards. Well, take this as a good news to you. SkyJet will allow your surfing boards to be carried by their aircraft. And if you have been to Caramoan via Naga or Legazpi flights, you pretty know that it will take you two more hours to get to the island right? But if you take Manila-Virac flight, you only have to go to Codon Port, and take a boat from there for only 35 minutes! Now, you do the Math.
Anyway, the SkyJet experience is always coupled with all-smiling experienced crew, ready to assist you and mind you, the pilots of the aircraft are seasoned pilots. One of the passenger told me that she was happy to see middle-aged pilots at SkyJet, that means they are well-experienced in doing their jobs.
We also met the owner of Tugawe Cove Resort in Caramoan, who was onboard herself during the inaugural flight of Sky Jet to Virac. Sky Jet now flies to Virac three time a week. You can check out their website right here.
Come back again as our next posts will feature top tourist destinations in Virac and its neighboring towns, plus we have exclusive photos of Tugawe Cove Resort in Camaraoan! And we will tell you where’s the best to stay in Virac; How you reach destinations like Bato Church, Maribina Falls, Batalay Shrine and more using a rented motorcycle.
