Explore Baguio: Panagbenga 2013, Grand Parade of Floats

We are still here at the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City to join their celebration of the Flower Festival also known as the Panagbenga 2013.

We already featured two articles since we arrived here yesterday – Street Dancing Competition and  Diplomat Hotel

And today, we woke up early to a 17 degrees celsius temperature, we had to take a bath on a very cold shower of Azalea Residences. While its 1 degrees in Toronto and 26 degrees in Manila, here in Baguio is still cold at 17degrees.

The parade of floats is still going on, while writing this post the float of Cebuana Lhuillier is currently performing. Today’s crowd has tripled compared to yesterdays number during the street dancing competition.

The Panagbenga 2013 does not yet end after the parade of floats today, the festival will end by March 3 at the Athletic Bowl, the closing ceremonies will be followed by fire works.

So if you missed the street dancing yesterday and the grand float parade today, you can still go up here and enjoy the cold weather and still join the Panagbenga festival.

From February 25 to March 3, they have SESSION ROAD IN BLOOM. It is a week-long event where this road closed to traffic. There will be stalls and stages to cater both local and tourists to taste different kinds of cuisine. Concerts and will also be part of the event.

Finally, since we did not finish the parade of floats where local celebrities are also present to grace to occasion, we only spotted Miss Universe-Philippines 2011 Ms. Shamcey Supsup who was all smiles and waving to the crowd.
