The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) headed by former Senator Richard Dick Gordon officially launched the second MILLION VOLUNTEER FUN dubbed as MVR2 – RUN TO SAVE LIVES, a fun run to demonstrate that the Philippines leads in championing the spirit of true volunteerism as a means of saving lives.
This run is going to be held simultaneously held on February 10 in Metro Manila and other key cities in the country. Aiming to strengthen a network of volunteers down to the barangay level and raise funds for the PRC’s critical humanitarian services.
The PH Red Cross (PRC) has been aggressively conducting recruitment drive for its RC 143 program. It recruits and trains at least 44 volunteers in every community composing of one team leader and 43 members, or 1+43 per barangay. RC 143 volunteers undergo rigid hands on training and practice to be able to respond and lead on-ground efforts during emergencies and other challenging situations like Ondoy, Pablo and a lot more related disasters in the country.
Celebrities support MVR2!

Award-winning actress Angel Locsin is running to support MVR2, Showtime babe Anne Curtis, Bandila host Karen Davila, Karyllee, Eric and Epi Quizon, Iza Calzado, Daphne Paez, Isabelle Daza, and Tintin Bersola-Babao.
The run is open to the public. PRC Chair Dick Gordon will lean the main run in Metro Manila featuring 3K and 5K courses which will happen in Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City and will start at 5:00AM.
The PRC Quezon City chapter will have simultaneous 3K and 5K runs starting from QC Memorial Circle along Eliptical Road towards Commonwealth Avenue.
All proceeds of the event will go to the Red Cross 143 Volunteer program.
