Philippines International Hot Air Balloon Festival 2013 schedule

Every year all traffic head to Clarkfield in Pampanga to witness, enjoy, have fun and for some couples do their pre-nuptial photo shoot to this annual PH International Hot Air Balloon Festival (PIHABF).

Last year, we were lucky to be included in the media group sponsored by Chevron Philippines to witness the international festivities. Check Digitalspidey‘s photoblog to see some photos from last year’s event.

This year, the Philippines International Hot Air Balloon Festival schedule is from February 21 to 24, 2013 happening at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

Hot Air Balloon 2012

In case you are planning to go there here are some tips that you should take note:

  1. Go early. When we say go early, you should be at the gate of Clark Freeport Zone by around 4AM because you do not like to experience the crawling traffic from NLEX and other roads going to the area.
  2. Pack lite. Just bring important stuff like towel and extra shirt, even if it is cold in the area during the season, it will be hot when it hit noon time. You can buy drinks inside the field, there a lots of stores there.
  3. Bring your best lens. Photographers take note: Bring extra battery of your DSLR, or you will miss lots of fun and exciting scenes during the day. Decide what lens to bring, if you do not have media pass it is advised that you bring your telephoto lens, because you will be far from where the action is happening. Bring your wide lens if you have access where the actual hot air balloon is assembled.
  4. Bring your friends with camera too! Seriously, you should bring friends for you to enjoy the festivities. Just kidding!  You want to have picture of yours too right? That’s the ultimate purpose, otherwise you will go home with tons of pictures without you in any single frame.
  5. Have fun!

How much is the entrance fee?
You can buy entrance ticket right there but take note that you have to fall in line too. So, if you contacts from the organizers or from some friends with connections you can pre-purchase tickets. Ticket is only P250.

How to get there?
Here’s the vicinity map of the event. If you are coming from Manila, it is better if you take SCTEX. Check the map below for more information.
